Training Social Collect
This workshop is for debt collection officers, accounts receivable managers, heads of finance, heads of housing, and policy officers at housing associations who want to learn more about "social debt collection," gain more knowledge about debt counseling, and discover what else they can do to identify problematic debts at an earlier stage.
Contents
In this interactive one-day workshop, we'll explain what social debt collection is and how you can apply it to achieve better financial and social returns.
Standard debt collection letters and emails are increasingly less frequently read. The language used is sometimes threatening, legalistic, and not (really) solution-oriented, which discourages the tenant from taking action. This can lead to a strained relationship between you and the tenant, sometimes resulting in legal proceedings and even more debt.
Topics
The workshop will cover the following topics:
- What is social debt collection? How and, more importantly, why do corporations use this method?
- General knowledge about debt counseling: what types of debt counseling are available and what opportunities does it offer you?
- Prevention and early detection: what can you do to prevent backlogs and quickly identify problems?
- Communication techniques: which language and style work best?
Result
Social debt collection leads to more contact with tenants, more and better information, and sustainable agreements. Ultimately, social debt collection leads to:
- Collecting more overdue rent;
- A significant decrease in the number of legal proceedings;
- Reduction in the number of evictions.
Social debt collection has already been successfully implemented by Leaseplan and Achmea Health Insurance, among others.
